Online math tutoring · ages 8–13

Friendly math help for kids who’ve started to dread it .

One-on-one online sessions that meet your child exactly where they are — calm, patient, and built around what’s actually due this week.

Book in one email. No app to install, no long signup.

You know the look. The homework folder that doesn’t come out of the bag. The “I’m just bad at math” that breaks your heart a little. It isn’t true — and the fastest way to prove it is a patient adult, one problem at a time, going at your child’s pace.

How it works

From dread to “done” in three easy steps

No assessments to schedule, no portal to learn. Just tell me what’s tripping your child up, and we get to work.

1

Send one email

Tell me your child’s age, what’s coming up, and where the wheels fall off. I reply within 24 hours with a time that fits your week.

2

Meet on a friendly screen

We hop on a video call and start exactly where your child is — no judgment, no rushing. Just this week’s real work, made to feel doable.

3

Watch the confidence grow

Each session ends with a small win and a clear next step. You get a one-line note on what we covered, so you’re never in the dark.

A note from your tutor

Hi, I’m the person who’ll be teaching your child.

I started Bright Steps because I kept meeting bright kids who’d quietly decided they were “bad at math.” They weren’t. They’d just hit one confusing week with nobody to slow down and walk them through it.

So that’s what I do — one child, one screen, one problem at a time, with zero rushing and zero sighing. If after your first session you don’t feel it was right for your child, just tell me and I’ll refund it, no questions asked.

Good questions

The things parents ask first

What do I actually need to get started?
One email. Tell me your child’s age, what they’re working on, and a couple of times that suit you. I’ll reply within 24 hours to confirm. You’ll need a laptop or tablet with a camera — that’s it.
How long is each session?
Thirty focused minutes — long enough to make real progress, short enough that a tired kid stays with it. We use the time on whatever’s most pressing that week.
My child gets frustrated easily. Is that okay?
More than okay — it’s exactly who these sessions are for. We go at their pace, celebrate the small wins, and never move on until something actually clicks.
What if it’s not the right fit?
If the first session doesn’t feel right for your child, tell me and I’ll refund it — no questions asked. Weekly spots can be cancelled anytime, with no contract.
Can you help right before a test?
That’s what the Exam Sprint is built for: three sessions in the week before a big test, drilling exactly what’s on it so your child walks in calm and prepared.
Which topics and grade levels do you cover?
Elementary and middle-school math for ages 8 to 13 — fractions, decimals, word problems, pre-algebra and everything in between. If you’re unsure, just describe what’s coming up and I’ll tell you honestly if I can help.

Let’s turn “I can’t” into “I’ve got this.”

Send one email today. Tell me what’s going on, and I’ll write back within 24 hours with a time that works for your family.
